History
Published since 1906. Before that Brewton was served by several papers
that merged, joined to become The Brewton Standard. The name comes from
the railroad tracks that pass through town, standard gauge.
Goal The Brewton Standard strives to achieve excellence in all that we do; to assume a leadership role and serve as a positive influence in our community; to cover and report the news without exclusion in our community with honesty, fairness and integrity; to build and promote commerce through marketing and advertising; to provide for the welfare of our employees and to provide our readers with information in every edition that is pertinent, useful, interesting and entertaining.
