Do you have a love for writing, news gathering, page design and community newspapers? Do you have an interest in community news, have a knack for finding important and relevant news stories and can lay out pages both quickly and accurately? Can you turn around solid articles on pressing deadlines? If you answered yes to all of the above, then we want to talk with you. The Austin Daily Herald is recruiting to fill a news editor position immediately. We're looking for someone who can design four to five pages per edition, who has excellent grammar skills, knows AP Style and who understands the importance of multimedia in a newsroom. This position will also handle some general assignment reporting duties. Austin is home to a Fortune 500 company and nearly endless recreational activities here in Southern Minnesota. Quark Xpress experience is a plus.
